Well, look who’s blogging again.

After a long break (and a ridiculous tangle with domain names, DNS records, and tech that made me briefly consider a simpler life in a cave), Commonplace Crazy is officially back—fresh paint, new address, and the same voice you remember.

If you’re new here: I’m Cynthia, a retired English teacher, grandma, and California girl trying to figure out Missouri. This blog is where I invite you in for a cup of coffee and a cozy chat about life and grammar and the craziness that’s so common around here.

Also along for the ride is my husband Howard—Missouri native, storyteller, and star of The Hillbilly’s Corner, where he shares tales of growing up country with a little mischief and a lot of charm.

Some of you might remember my “Wicked English Teacher Wednesday” posts. I’ve mellowed since then. Leaving junior high behind will do that for you. These days I aim for clarity with kindness, and lessons without the rantiness. I mean, a girl can try.

I’ll be sharing new stories and old favorites, and I hope you’ll pull up a chair and stay awhile. Whether you’re here for grammar tips or hillbilly tales, there’s a place for you at the table.

Thanks for stopping by—make yourself at home.
And as always, mind the apostrophes.
